How to set a free shipping threshold that pays for itself
Set the bar too low and you give away margin. Too high and nobody reaches it. A simple method to find the right number.
Read articleTimers, free shipping bars and one-tap upsells. What to put in your cart drawer, and what to leave out.

A classic cart page takes the shopper away from what they were browsing. A drawer slides in from the side, confirms the item was added and lets them either keep shopping or check out. Fewer page loads, fewer chances to leave.
Every element competes with the checkout button. Remove anything that doesn't help the shopper finish the order: long descriptions, several upsell carousels, newsletter signups, social links. If you hesitate about an element, test the cart without it.
A short reservation timer ("Your cart is reserved for 10 minutes") can help shoppers decide. But fake scarcity backfires. If the timer resets every time the page reloads, customers notice, and they stop trusting everything else on the page.
A toggle for shipping protection, a gift note or an order note, an estimated delivery date. These are low-friction additions that either add value to the order or answer a question before it's asked.
Always design your drawer on mobile first. Most of your shoppers will see it on a phone, where every pixel above the checkout button counts.
The Amose cart drawer includes the progress bar, upsells, timer, toggle upsell, trust badges and payment icons, with more than 20 design options to match your theme. Our tutorials walk through each setting.
